Dari 3 serie printer A3+ terbaru dari canon, PIXMA Pro100 adalah yang paling murah. Tidak ada perbedaan dari segi resolusi ketiganya mengusung resolusi maksimal sebesar 4800 x 2400dpi dan sama-sama memiliki kemampuan direct CD print. Dalam hal kecepatan justru PIXMA Pro100 yang paling unggul diantara ketiganya. Perbedaan nya terletak pada jenis cartridge yang dipakai, dimana PIXMA Pro100 menggunakan CLI 42 series. Perbedaan type cartridge yang dipakai berhubungan dengan teknologi cartridgenya itu sendiri dimana cartridge CLI 42 mempunyai jumlah nozzle sebanyak 6144 nozzles setingkat lebih tinggi dari Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II dengan 5144 nozzles, sementara PIXMA Pro10 dengan cartridge PGI 72 nya memiliki nozzle sebanyak 7680 nozzles dan PIXMA pro1 dengan cartridge PGI 29 dilengkapi 12.288 nozzles. PIXMA Pro100 menggunakan 8 cartridge berteknologi chromalife 100+ yang di klaim dapat mempertahankan hasil cetak foto selama 200 tahun dalam kondisi penyimpanan yang baik. Untuk konektivitas PIXMA Pro100 dilengkapi teknologi wireless conection ( wifi ) dengan fitur Apple Airprint sama seperti PIXMA Pro10.
